The Parallel Postulate

If a straight line crossing two straight lines makes the alternate angles equal to one another, the straight lines will be parallel to one another. Euclid's Fifth Postulate

Here is the construction

Given a line and a point, construct a line through the point, parallel to the given line.

Theorem:

In a plane, two lines parallel to a third line are parallel to each other.
